What to expect at your engagement session
Heyyy!! You’re most likely here because you’ve scheduled or plan to schedule an engagement session with us! First, CONGRATS!!!
More than likely you’re nervous AF which is totally normal! If you think you’ll need liquid courage like beer,champagne, hard cider(personal fave lol) GO FOR IT. Shoot, bring it to the session and well mix it in! We are celebrating! Just make sure one of you is sober enough to drive( I can’t help the reminder, its the mom in me).
Anyways, after we pick an amazing location for you guys, well set a date and time! After that, I’ll email you a questionnairre (which is actually pretty fun if I do say so myself). This helps me get to know you two a little better and sets the vibe for our sesh! I can even send you wardbrobe suggestions if you need help! Side note- you can bring more than one outfit! totally down for that as long as you don’t mind getting dressed in an odd location, like the middle of the forest LOL! Its been done MANY times!
So by now I’m sure you have a board on pinterest with ALL the engagement photo inspo! That’s great and we love seeing your boards so we can get some of that stuff, BUT, throw out all our expectations! Trust us, we’ve done this a time or two and it’ll take off so much pressure you put on yourself.
When we meet at the location expect a BIG hug, I cant help it I’m a hugger! We’ll walk/hike around and find an amazing spot to start! Generally we warm up with some traditional posed photos (for your grandma and mom). Then well get into the fun stuff! The best things about the prompts we’ll give you is that every couple is unique and will do them in a different way! Here are some examples,so you can get an idea! But keep in mind we don’t do the same thing each time, and it might be one or both of us depending on availability! Our prompts vary on the vibe we get from you two and we always make sure you’re both comfortable doing whatever we do!
Keep in mind we guide you through the whole thing! We often get comments like “ my fiance doesn’t like photos so I’m not sure if he’ll look too serious”. Honestly. that’s why we approach photos the way we do, actions instead of motionless poses. That way it feels more natural for you and us! Don’t be nervous! We got you!
